Our Story

Child Psychology of Long Island was founded in 2019, by Dr. Jacalyn Bruno, a clinical psychologist with a passion for helping children and their families. Dr. Bruno began her career as a school psychologist. She has experience in both public and private school settings from preschool to high school. Dr. Bruno made the decision to leave her role in the school system after feeling limited by the constraints and politics of the public education system. She founded Child Psychology of Long Island with the goal of helping more children and families in a flexible, personalized way—free from the rigid structures of public school system. We are able to truly connect with kids and families, offering customized interventions and support throughout a childs developmental journey. We work with a broad spectrum of childhood challenges, helping children and teens navigate a variety of developmental, emotional, and behavioral concerns.

Our Space

Our recently renovated office building in Patchogue, NY offers a warm inviting environment for children and  families. The building is secure and can accommodate large groups as needed. We have created a comfortable and cheerful space to help children feel at ease during therapy sessions.  Our new space features a secure outdoor area for group and summer programs or for clients who prefer to be outside. We look forward to seeing you here!
